On July 31, Jiangchuan District held the 2023 Electric Barn Commercialization Baking Promotion Meeting. Wang Jin, deputy secretary of the district party committee and district mayor, requested that relevant departments at all levels in the district should strengthen coordination and cooperation, seize the time node to promote commercial baking, and ensure that the majority of tobacco farmers can truly enjoy convenience and benefits.

On the same day, Wang Jin led the main responsible persons of various villages and towns (streets) and relevant departments to Ninghai Street, Jiuxi Town and Xiongguan Township successively to inspect the newly built electric baking houses this year, understand the commercial baking situation of the electric baking houses, sort out the difficulties and problems encountered in the current commercial baking process, and study the solutions.

At the following symposium, Jiuxi Town introduced the promotion and utilization of commercial baking in electric baking houses. Xiongguan Township, Anhua Township, Qianwei Town, Jiangcheng Town, Ninghai Street and Xingyun Street respectively reported the commercial baking in electric baking houses. The equipment supplier of the electric curing room, the district tobacco industry service center, the district power supply bureau and the Jiangchuan branch of the municipal tobacco company put forward their opinions and suggestions on how to do a good job in the commercialization of the electric curing room in the next step in combination with their actual work.

After on-the-spot investigation and listening to the situation report, Wang Jin pointed out that in recent years, Jiangchuan District has actively promoted the construction of closed heat pump electric curing barns. By 2022, 502 closed electric heat pump curing barns have been built in the whole district. In 2023, another 35 groups of 464 closed electric energy heat pump curing barns were invested in 64.322 million yuan, with the aim of reducing the smoke loss of tobacco farmers in the curing process, making the cured tobacco leaves better and improving the baking quality of tobacco leaves, increase the income of tobacco farmers. In view of the problems existing in the process of promoting the commercialization of electric curing houses in the whole region, Wang Jin demanded that all townships (streets) and relevant departments should improve their political positions, earnestly understand the significance of the commercialization of electric curing houses in improving the quality of flue-cured tobacco and promoting the high-quality development of the tobacco industry, and earnestly do a good job in all kinds of commercial baking work. We should pay close attention to the existing problems, actively study the methods and measures to solve the problems, and solve the problems of power and equipment technology in the shortest time. The district tobacco industry service center should take the lead in training commercial baking business, and promote the commercial baking rate of the whole region to reach 80% through technical adjustment and human cooperation.
